Choosing the Right Powder Coat Texture for Your Project

Powder coatings serve a dual purpose: enhancing durability and changing the appearance of a surface. Selecting the right coating color and texture is critical to ensuring the final product lives up to the design expectations. We can offer a variety of powder coating textures for a variety of applications:
  • Wrinkled Sand Texture: Wrinkled Sand powder coating textures have a very low gloss, sand-like surface that offers excellent wear resistance. These textures are commonly found in industrial environments and resist scratches from sharp tools.
  • River Vein Texture: The River Vein or “Alligator” texture creates tiny waterways on the material, requiring precision during application to ensure an even finish. Ideal for interior applications such as appliance housings and furniture, it offers excellent outdoor durability when applied with the Ultra Durable Polyester Powder.
  • Hammer Texture: Similar to the surface of a golf ball or orange peel, hammer texture is ideal for products that require a rugged exterior coating that can withstand minor knocks, scratches, and chips. This texture has a modern feel and is ideal for outdoor furniture, lighting fixtures, and architectural applications.
  • Gloss: Different surface textures offer the opportunity to achieve glossy effects. Determine if a matte (solid), low gloss, medium gloss, or high gloss (reflective) finish is right for your product.
Choosing the right powder coating texture is critical because it not only improves durability, but can also significantly impact the visual and tactile aspects of the finished product. Tianxu's team will analyze the intended use and aesthetics of your project to help you make an informed decision that meets the specific needs of your project.
